APOSTILLE

Apostille Questions

What is an apostille?

A certificate that authenticates a document for legal use in another Hague Convention member country, confirming the signature, seal, or stamp on it is genuine.

How long does an apostille take?

7 to 10 business days when we hand deliver it to Ontario's Official Document Services, versus a minimum of 15 business days plus shipping time if mailed in yourself.

Does my document need to be notarized first?

Only if it isn't already government-issued. We'll let you know at intake whether notarization is required, and if so, it's from $25 for a basic document.

What if my destination country isn't a Hague member?

Your document instead needs authentication and legalization through a Canadian authority and that country's embassy or consulate. We can guide you through this.

Do you apostille federal documents?

Not currently. We handle provincial, Ontario-issued documents processed through ODS, not federal documents like RCMP checks or citizenship certificates.

Can I track my apostille order?

Yes, every apostille order includes live status tracking from drop-off to delivery.
